A gateway to the soul of art, and humans
The opening of a new gallery in a city is not just any old cultural event. It is entirely irrelevant that that Little Exhibition Room is truly small. After all, it is true insight into the soul of creative art in all imaginable dimensions. And a message that our city wants to see culture as the absolutely essential to cultivating society and each individual in it. Culture and art have had the gift of being able to improve us – all we have to do is let them do their work and take them in with the senses.
A living historic memory of the city
The awakening of the Little Exhibition Room is also an important historical message. A direct line to the at times inglorious past of a city in which a significant phenomenon was born in 1975, the little island of free thinking that the original MVS undoubtedly was. All of our actions contribute towards building the life story of the city, past present and future; from this perspective, the born-again Little Exhibition Room is therefore a living contribution to the historical memory of Liberec.
